Gas Cost Allowance

The Gas Cost Allowance (GCA) is an allowance for producers' costs of processing gas at producer-owned gas plants.

The GCA is established by order of the royalty administrator to offset capital and operating costs associated with:

  • processing the Crown's share of gas at a producer-owned plant
  • transporting the Crown's share of residue gas in a producer-owned sales line

The Ministry of Small Business and Revenue approves GCA rates based on actual costs for each plant. Approved GCA rates are deducted from sales prices in the calculation of Producer Prices.

For producer-owned plant GCA rate queries, please contact Bandy Unaphum at 604-660-2507
