How long does the process take to become self-taxing? |
From the time the request, and all information required under the Indian Self Government Enabling Act, is received in the Minister's Office, it will take approximately four weeks or 20 business days for the requestor to receive the signed Taxation Certificate.
From the date of application, it will take approximately eight weeks or 40 business days until the notification is published in the B.C. Gazette.
What if the First Nation already has a Taxation Certificate and would like to add a reserve? |
